TOOL.

Inside a small studio in Tribeca, Manhattan, Best Made Co. has committed itself to only making or selling "the best made" products available. That motto is proven in their superior line of handmade axes available in a vast array of colors guaranteed to match any flannel.

Willy & Wood

Italian sculptor Willy Verginer creates impressive forms (see alpsound) with carving tools. I saw his work for the first time a few years ago in at Arte Fiera Bologna and stopped short, but his new work adds these elements of color and division which are delightfully uncanny.

Portland General Store

It wasn't until our recent trip to Montreal and men's shoppe, Rooney that we discovered Portland General Store. We fell in love; and learned it's created (almost) in our backyard. Made on India Street by new mother and transplanted Brooklynite, Lisa, the men's care line has graced the pages of Playboy and Equire, among others. Products are mixed based on recipes that date back to the 20s, bottled and labeled by hand, using essential oils sourced from an NYC aromatherapy expert. We just picked up some Old Fashioned Wood body cream and are patiently awaiting the Whiskey no. 006 eau de toilette.

design (dream) house

They've only been working since 2007, but the impressive Portland, Oregon-based  design house Vontundra is our new favorite.
