WOOD TYPE.

The Hamilton Wood Type Museum has preserved a dying form of print-making while making it possible for fans or students of classic letterpress to learn about the process and understand how beautiful this art really was/is. Admission is FREE and tours are running all the time. I'm headed to Hamilton.

I think we're alone now

I THINK WE'RE ALONE NOW is one of the best documentaries to come out this year. Harmony Korine only wishes he wrote characters as engaging as Jeff Turner, the 50 year old stalker suffering from Aspergers syndrome, and Kelly McCormick, a hermaphrodite longing for love. The story revolves around mutual love for pop singer Tiffany.

Every boy wearing horn-rimmed glasses can now geek out to the thought of wedding invitations. Kathleen Shannon designed these beautifully charming invites inspired from The Life Aquatic by Wes Anderson.

in sight

Alternate perspectives in conflict:
Budrus, a beautifully hopeful depiction of Palestinian-Israeli conflict, we saw screened at the opening of CIFF this year.
The Oath we've only just learned about. Looks incredible. Humanity and Al-Qaeda?

units of measurement

via buzz feed

'Taking Place' ongoing at Amsterdam's Stedelijk Museum adresses the spatial and temporal conditions of the museum itself as well as how artists use, occupy and animate museum spaces. In this room, Roman Ondak's Measuring the Universe asks visitors to mark their height on the wall. Both public performance and collective document, thousands of individual units yield design harmony.

DOOM taking on PARIS.

I love these images of MF DOOM on tour in Paris! DOOM live is definitely on the bucket list!

Signage.

Austin was littered with great hand-painted signage, it was hard not to fall in love with it. This video of the incredible Damon Styer of New Bohemia Signs found me reminiscing.
AND, if that's not long enough for you, don't worry, there is a full-length documentary currently in production titled, simply, The Sign Painter Movie. Their blog should tie you over until it's in the can!
