Women's History Month

via historychannel.com

I came across these beautiful photographs of women working in arms and aircraft factories across the United States during WWII.
Women’s History Month in the US started in Sonoma, California, in 1978. In 1980, Jimmy Carter issued the first presidential proclamation declaring the week of March 8 as National Women's History Week. Six years later, the National Women’s History Project successfully petitioned Congress to expand the event to the entire month of March. Hey-o.
